Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to family or friends about how you really feel, and you just need someone to talk to who is able to take their time to listen to you, without judgement. Whatever your situation, some experiences can create difficult emotions such as grief, guilt, sadness, confusion, anger, shame or low self-esteem, which I can help you to manage during our therapy work together. I use a person-centred approach as the basis of my counselling work which can help you to make sense of your life experiences and current circumstances. In addition to this approach I also use solution focused and positive psychology techniques. Solution focused therapy is useful if you wish to have short term therapy and you already have an idea about your preferred future but maybe need some help in getting there. Positive psychology encourages you to not only accept yourself by living authentically, but to also focus on your strengths which then encourages emotional resilience.
